I have been a Birth Doula since November of 96,’
receiving my training through Bates Technical College.
In November 1999, I was certified through Tacoma Labor
Companions. I continued taking courses to enhance my
work in the Childbirth field such as Aromatherapy,
Waterbirth, Photography,Rebozo, and Advanced Doula
training and became a Certified Doula with DONA
(Doula's of North America) in June of 2003. To keep up
with the latest news and information affecting expectant
parents I attend seminarsand conferences yearly, and
multiple times a year, informational meetings put on by various groups in the childbirth field. I have also assisted in a great Weekend Childbirth Preparation Class, taught by Patti Ramos (doula partner and backup.)
I have had the honor to witness over 200 miracles come into this world so far, and still have the awe and amazement from every experience. I have attended births in King, Pierce, Kitsap and Thurston Counties. In homes, hospitals, & birth centers. Labors were natural without medication, medicated, induced, vbac, waterbirth, cesarean, & twin deliveries. I do this job with a passion to help, and a passion to make a difference. In addition to being a Birth Doula I have completed training at Seattle Midwifery and have become a Postpartum Doula. I am currently accepting families for Birth and Postpartum work.
A specialty that I provide along with Birth & Postpartum Doula Services is Photography. To view portraits of Birth, Newborns, and Beautiful Pregnant Bellies please click the following link Photography. To learn more about a Doula's role click here!

Tonya, after delivering her daughter at home in the presence of her family. January 2006
Hello, My name is Tonya Gervacio. I am
married to my high school sweetheart, Roland.
Together we are proud parents of two gorgeous
boys that are not so little anymore ages 11 & 16,
and a beautiful 6 year old daughter. We live in
Puyallup, Washington. Many have described me as
a "soccer mom” I take that a compliment and wear
that title with pride! In this house however it is not
soccer thats being played it's Baseball. I am my
boys biggest fan out in the stands and love every
second that I get to cheer them on. I cherish this
family of mine and thank God daily for this gift
of motherhood. One of my greatest joys is watching what sweet, loving, responsible, caring, compassionate, empathetic, strong, & dedicated people my children are becoming. I see a reflection of myself and am so very proud, as this is who I am...
